Last night my brother and Jessica (his girlfriend) went to Quaker Steak and Lube to meet the designers from Extreme Home Makeover. They just so happened to be standing outside when all 4 of them (Eduardo, John, Paige, and Pauly) came riding up on a fire truck! My brother was able to snap a few shots of them as they were walking in.

Last night was a fundraiser to help raise money to pay off the Anders-Beatty family’s existing mortgage. A number of things were auctioned off including tickets to a Bruce Springsteen concert, which went for $2,500, Paige’s boots, her toolbelt, some VIP packages for the big reveal today, and I’m sure other things that I’m not aware of. At the end of the night they announced that they were able to raise $25,000 and it sounds like everyone was very generous with their bidding.
Jessica decided to write down my blog address and distribute it to both Paige and Pauly who both kindly accepted it from her (thank you Jessica for being my personal publicist) . So, who knows, maybe they will come visit and check out all I’ve had to say about their current project! Both Jessica and Steven told me that all 3 designers were very kind to all of their fans and spent lots of time signing autographs. Steven also told me that at one point Paige pulled a hot pink screwdriver from her toolbelt and handed it to a fan standing nearby and then quickly proceeded to autograph it for them.
Speaking of hot pink screwdrivers, I’ve been checking out Paige’s line of products that she sells, and I have to say that I’m pretty enamored with her hot pink work boots. I don’t really have a need for workboots. In fact, the only time I wear them is when I mow the lawn (which I do weekly during the summer, so maybe I could justify them). I just think I would look really hot walking around our yard mowing the lawn with hot pink workboots (see below for a picture)!
Like, I said before, I am not at the big reveal today and I have to admit that I’m pretty sad I didn’t get to go. David has talked to me a few times today, and I think at this point the family should be there (it sounded like they were planning on them showing up around 3:00). He has a spot front and center by the bus so he should hopefully have some good pictures for me to post later on. I will be going to the wrap party tonight, so it might be morning or else very late tonight by the time I get everything organized from the big reveal and posted on the blog. So, check back later tonight and hopefully I’ll have some good pictures for you!

The boot’s brand is Tuff Chix and they are promoted by Paige Hemmis (from Extreme Home Makeover). I think they sell for about $100 (and it looks like they even have them in size 11 here http://stores.channeladvisor.com/metro-shoe-warehouse/Items/f-ca10108?sck=6026273&caSKU=f-ca10108&caTitle=Women's%20Tuff%20Chix%20by%20Carolina%20CA10108). Here is a link to Paige’s website with the stuff she sells: http://paigehemmis.com/#TUFF_CHIX_SHOP/. She also has a pink toolbelt, and pink gloves that she sells. I know she personally has pink tools that she uses, but I’m not sure if she sells them or not. Congratulations on graduating and good luck with your new job!
