Cooking and Kicking

Madeline informed me today that she was going to have a picnic with her friends and she needed to cook. She then started to list all of the ingredients she was going to need to cook properly for her picnic. I believe it included eggs (preferably lots of them), sugar, milk, cereal, and crackers. After she was done explaining her cooking plan to me she finished by saying, “that’s a great idea!” She loves to say that, and it cracks me up every time! Since it had been a while since I had last let her “cook” I figured I would let her have a little time in the kitchen. Anthony was sleeping, and it was a good way to kill some time while I tried to get something done around the house.

Here she is cracking an egg (please ignore her Pj’s and messy hair. She is an active sleeper and I hadn’t bothered to deal with her hair at that point!).

She spent a great deal of time stirring, and adding random ingredients. This is what the finished product looked like.

Anyone want to join Madeline for a picnic?

One time when Madeline “cooked” Steven and Jessica came over shortly after she was done. Madeline insisted they try her meal. Jessica refused, but Steven did try a little spoonful to make her happy. That’s true love!

Anthony has been walking like a crazy fool lately. He still seems to show a preference for walking at night, probably because he knows that we think it is so cute and he ends up getting to stay up later.

Last night while David was in the basement with Anthony working on his walking, he discovered that not only is Anthony mastering his walking skills he is also working hard on his soccer skills. Tonight I spent some time trying to capture Anthony’s newfound ball handling skills. Check him out! (And please don’t count how many times I say “good job” or take note of how ridiculous I sound. Thank you!).
